Also, I'm not one for shameless promotions, but after looking over your blog I believe you may be interested in my book The Real Night of the Living Dead which tells a survivor's account of an alleged true life zombie attack at Philadelphia State Hospital in 1951
It’s a picture of a crow or other black bird (maybe a starling) taking off.
The bird is between the feed stand and the grass line. The position of the camera gives a misleading impression as to size. The same effect was used in Lord of the Rings.
The close up shows the wings of the bird caught in mid-downstroke with the leading flight feathers splayed out to facilitate lift.
